I’ve come to realize, life is far too short and too fleeting, it’s much too precious for me to be allowed the chance to be selfish. My best friend is right, if I can’t change one person, how can I change thousands? If I cannot help one person, how can I help thousands? It is an indication of my capability as much as it is a test of my strength. I need to not look at my own interests and look to that of others, that of the big picture. Keeping my eyes on the prize but at the same time, I must not distort my purpose; I’ll keep going to get to where I have to go, the road will take me to where I need to be, where then I will continually pray for the strength to do what needs to be done.
